Practise breakdowns and emergencies
A breakdown, an accident or a level crossing closing. You know what to do.
Safe driving and emergencies is a fixed part of the CBR exam.
You get questions about breaking down on the motorway, warning triangles, level crossings, tunnels, aquaplaning and what to do after an accident.
Need to know
- Has your car broken down but can still drive? Then drive on to an emergency lay-by, car park or petrol station.
- Stopped on the hard shoulder? Stand behind the crash barrier.
- A warning triangle is not compulsory in the Netherlands. If you form an obstacle, use your hazard lights or a warning triangle.
- Are the red lights at a level crossing flashing? Then you stop, even if the barriers are still up.
- After an accident with injuries you call 112.
